Outbuildings & detached structures
More room for vehicles, tools, projects and entertaining, with the site work and slab handled by the same crews that build the structure.
Around the lake, a house is rarely the only building on the property. Boats, trucks, mowers, tools, hobbies and weekend guests all need somewhere to go, and a well-built outbuilding gives them a permanent home.
Whether you need a two-car garage beside a new home, a carport for the boat, a workshop for weekend projects or a pool house for summer parties, the building should suit the property it sits on and the way you plan to use it.
Onalaska Builders builds garages and outbuildings with our own crews. Because we also do dirt work and slab foundations, the ground is prepared and the slab poured by the same company that puts up the building.

A garage keeps trucks, cars and boats out of the weather and locked up, with room for a workbench.
A carport covers vehicles without walls. A pavilion gives you a covered place to cook, eat and gather outside.
A shed or workshop holds mowers, tools and supplies, or becomes a space for a hobby.
A pool house adds changing rooms, a lounge or an outdoor bar next to the pool.
A garage conversion turns an existing garage into an apartment, office or gym.
Before you build
If you are also building a new home, it usually makes sense to plan garages and outbuildings at the same time, so the site work, slabs and driveways are laid out once.
One builder
An outbuilding is only as good as the ground and slab under it. When the site prep, the concrete and the building are handled by different companies, small mismatches, such as a slab that sits too low or drains toward the door, become your problem.
With clearing, grading, the slab and the building under one company, those pieces are planned together.
We build garages and outbuildings within about 35 miles of Onalaska, including Livingston, Point Blank, Coldspring, Shepherd, Groveton, Trinity, Huntsville, Cleveland and Willis. See our full service area.
Questions
Yes. We handle land clearing, grading and slab foundations as well as the building itself, so the ground, the slab and the structure are planned together.
A carport is an open-sided cover for vehicles. A pavilion is a covered outdoor gathering space, often timber-framed, for cooking, eating and entertaining.
Not always. Deed restrictions, HOA rules and city or county requirements can limit size, location and use, and the site needs good drainage and access. Check the rules for your property early.
